Tornado Sports Cars - TSC GT40 Price: POA
Last Updated On: 25/04/2023
The Tornado TSC GT40 is visually an exact replica of the Ford GT40 MK1 which dominated Le Mans during the late 1960's and is considered by many to have been the ultimate sports race car of that era. The TSC GT40 combines the classic Le Mans winning shape of the original car, with the best that modern motoring technology has to offer. Mk1 or Mk2 body styles are available.
The body can be made either from a Composite Laminate of either Glass Reinforced Fibre or Carbon Fibre, which sits on a chassis comprised of a Tubular Spaceframe / Aluminium monocoque / Carbon Monocoque.
All cars can be powered by a variety of V8 powerplants and one is the Ford Coyote V8 engine, as used in the 2011 Ford Mustang, and which has achieved Euro 5 Emissions standard. This engine is an all aluminium, quad cam, fuel injected unit developing 412 BHP in its standard form or 624 BHP when supercharged and takes advantage of many modern engine design technologies, such as variable valve timing. Transmission can either be a 5 or 6 speed manual gearbox. With a standard Ford 302 V8 fitted, a top speed of 165mph (266 km/h) and a 0-60mph (97km/h) time of 5 seconds is achievable.
A long list of extras is offered with the TSC GT40 and customers when placing an order can choose the chassis frame colour, suspension colour, wheel style and colour, body colour, carpet, seat and dashboard colour. A removable door top conversion is offered for open-top motoring (Images 7 & 8).
The TSC GT40 is also available as a self-build project.
